Has anyone other than TA/Petro tema members seen the 5-hour-long training series that the Tire Industry Association (TIA) has out? We have been getting all the guys here thru it as much as possible & we have been getting some negative & positive feedback on our new methods of tire/wheel mounting. Anyone else seen the materials or been thru the training yet & found any difference in the way you do any tire work now? I have found it doesn't take much longer to clean the studs, hub pilots, wheel mating surfaces, & oil the studs & lugnuts like I thought it might. Some of our more "senior" drivers aren't too happy about the fact that we just don't run lugnuts down with an impact wrench & leave them be.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well!!

I haven't been through the training, but several people at our shop have. We lube all studs, nut flanges and clean mating surfaces. We also check torque on all lugnuts. About the time you think it is a waste of time, you'll find a couple of loose lugs.

Just took the training cds yesterday and they are indeed boring and the voice over could put you to sleep but there is a couple bits of good information. I will really say it is a good training series for someone just starting out in the industry and has yet to change one of these tire assemblys.

My shop has to take them to. I found some of the questions dont match the videos. Like airing the tire to 5psi out of the cage and the test says to air it to 40psi
